Historical district Kettwig

Essen's newest district was administratively incorporated in 1975. It has never lost its old town flair with its many half-timbered buildings from the 17th and 19th centuries, and its narrow, winding lanes. The many beautiful rococo and empire style doors are definitely worth seeing.

The Heimat- und Verkehrsverein Kettwig e.V. has special town, night watchman and sculpture tours on offer. Experienced tour guides lead groups through the beautiful old town and a sculpture park, which is unique in the region.
