Monument route in Essen city centre

In close cooperation and with the generous support of the city of Essen, the local Historical Association for City & Institution (Historischer Verein für Stadt und Stiftung) has extended the 'Historical & Archaeological Walk' (Historisch-Archäologischen Pfad), which was first opened in 1995, to a 'Monument Route' (Denkmalpfad) with a total of 33 sites. The Monument route through the city centre elaborates on the history of buildings that have disappeared, and those still standing.
