Friday: How about a nice, ice-cold ale?
Relax from your journey at the traditional 'Dampfbier' brewery. Enjoy a hearty dinner on these historical premises with a fresh 'Salon' beer.
Saturday: World Heritage Site, family dynasty and variety theatre
Visit the Villa Hügel in the morning, and walk through the imposing former residence of the Krupp family. Afterwards, take a stroll through the park with its glorious sites, or enjoy a boat trip on the nearby Lake Baldeney. The afternoon belongs to the Zollverein UNESCO World Heritage Site and the Ruhr Museum. Step into the coal miners footsteps, and visit what was once the most modern and beautiful colliery in the world. Find out about its history and technology, and learn about its transformation into an industrial monument and venue for design, art and culture. The evening belongs to the Varieté Theater GOP, with an exciting mix of acrobatics, magic and comedy.
